Net-O2 releases test suite for Ethernet 802.3ah OAM and LLDP
October 3, 2006

CHENNAI, Oct 03, 2006 — Net-O2 Technologies, a leading provider of IP and Layer-2 protocol conformance test suites has announced the availability of Net-O2 ATTEST 802.3ah OAM (operations administration and maintenance) and Net-O2 ATTEST LLDP (link layer discovery protocol) test suites for validation of Ethernet switches.

ATTEST 802.3ah OAM test suite contains 109 test cases that validate for conformance of reception of variable request/ response OAM PDUs, state machine changes and functionality of OAM in active/passive mode, in accordance to IEEE 802.3ah specification for implementations of Ethernet in the First Mile (EFM).

ATTEST LLDP test suite contains 151 test cases that validate for conformance to IEEE 802.1AB in Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) agents in devices. Tests verify for reception and transmission of neighbor information under transmit-only, receive-only and transmit-receive modes as well as management configuration.

“Net-O2 ATTEST is already one of the most comprehensive test suites addressing the conformance testing requirements of Ethernet Switch Manufacturers, resulting in significant reduction in testing time” said David K. Charlu, President and CTO of Net-O2 Technologies. As we continue to enhance our Layer 2 suites, ATTEST-based test solutions are found to be significant value enhancers by chipset manufacturers and equipment manufacturers implementing Enterprise switches, DSLAMs and Metro-Ethernet switches.

ATTEST tests suites are also available for testing spanning tree (STP, RSTP, MSTP), virtual LAN (VLAN), link aggregation (LACP), and 802.1X protocols.
