Net-O2 announces support for ITU Y.1731 Conformance
June 16, 2008

CHENNAI, June 16, 2008 — Net-O2 Technologies announces ATTEST Y.1731 conformance test suite for Carrier Ethernet networks. ITU-T Recommendation Y.1731 dated May 2006 defines OAM functions and mechanisms for Ethernet based networks.

ATTEST Y.1731 test cases verify the OAM support for implementation of both maintenance entity group end points (MEPs) and maintenance entity group intermediate points (MIPs) and are available on the ATTEST test framework. The test cases verify generation and handling of valid and invalid OAM messages. The verification is done for customer, provider and operator domain levels. Y.1731 test cases also verify Continuity check (ETH-CC), Loopback (ETH-LB), Link trace (ETH-LT), Remote defect indication (ETH-RDI), Test (ETH-TEST), OAM performance and independent MEG Level support. ATTEST Y.1731 test cases have been grouped into 12 convenient test groups based on the ITU-T specifications for each category of functions

Other Carrier Ethernet protocol test suites from Net-O2 Technologies include ATTEST CFM and ATTEST EFM-OAM. Together with other Layer-2 Test Suites such as RSTP, MSTP, VLAN and LACP, Net-O2 provides one of the most Functional solutions for conformance testing of Carrier Ethernet equipment.
